Rec Roots, LLC
Rec Roots was founded in 2018, in the Southern Tier region of Upstate New York, as a research partner in New York State's Agriculture Research Pilot Program.
Led by a multi-member team consisting of veterans, black and women entrepreneurs and casualties of the war on cannabis. Our small cannabis startup has grown into a NYS Adult Use Cannabis licensee, focused on producing the highest quality branded cannabis products from seed to shelf.
Over half of our founding team have been convicted of cannabis offenses, with two of our founders serving time in state correctional facilities for non violent cannabis 'crimes'.
We're in this for the long haul, because we've been doing this.
Our founding team has been together for nearly two decades. We aren't a group of suits rushing into a hot new industry or market... every one of our founders grew up in this industry, together, risking our freedom and futures in hopes of being able to do it one day without looking over a shoulder... to do it legally.
And here we are.
Sitting on 3+ acres in the heart of New York's Southern Tier region, Rec Roots facilities consist of over 32,000 square feet of indoor, mixed light/light depravation cultivation and processing space.
